My first car, after passing my test in 1983, was a 1973 Mini Clubman Saloon. I learned a lot about mechanics and bodywork on the side of the road, since my parents didn’t have a driveway or garage. I spent countless hours working on that Mini. Not long after, I bought a little Mini 850 — and from there, the obsession took hold.

Those early experiences...
...sparked a lifelong passion for classic Minis. So, when the chance came up to buy a 1969 Minivan — albeit in pieces — I jumped at it.
It came with two engines, several doors... but no front wings or front panel!
In November 2019, I began stripping out the engine and bodywork, and started sourcing new panels and parts. By April 2021, the welding was completed, and the shell went off to the spray shop.

I refurbished...
...the subframes, fitted new brakes all round (including front discs), and installed new suspension, complete with bushes and adjustable springs.
A later A+ series engine was purchased and paired with a new clutch. Many components, including the 10-inch wheels, were powder coated at Wicked Rims.
On 14th October 2022, the Minivan arrived at the garage — and the rebuild began.
By November 2024...
New carpets were installed, along with refurbished seats, and by November 2024, the project was officially “finished.”
Now, the Minivan is complete and ready to hit the 2025 show season.
