Restoring the 1962 MG Midget is a big job—and it wouldn’t be possible without the support of others. We are lucky to have the help of a number of companies, tradespeople and individuals who have offered their time, skills, and resources to help bring this car back to life. This project isn’t just about restoring a classic—it’s about coming together to support a good cause. Every contribution, whether large or small, helps move us closer to our goal: a successful charity auction that can make a real difference. We’re proud to be part of a team effort and truly grateful for everyone who will be joining us along the way.

Knebworth Refinishing
My name’s Adam, and I run Knebworth Refinishing—a small bodyshop I opened in Hertfordshire in late 2024 after over a decade learning the trade alongside my dad. I’ve always had a passion for cars, especially classics. My first proper hands-on experience came after I crashed my first car—a Seat Ibiza. My dad helped me fix it, and seeing it back in one piece sparked my love for bodywork.
Since then, I’ve owned everything from a 700cc Smart Car to a 4.7L Land Cruiser, but my first real classic project was a £300 Jaguar XJ40. Despite the rust and warnings, restoring it was an incredible experience—and it kicked off a series of classic car builds.
So when Shaun reached out about the MG Midget and the story behind it, I was more than happy to get involved. It’s a great project, for a great cause, and I’m proud to be part of it.

MG Owners Club
We visited the MG Owners Club and spoke about our project. They have been very supportive with advice and parts. The offer to appear on their stand at the NEC Birmingham Classic Motor Show was fantastic. See you all there.

Wicked Rims
I have been using these guys for many years, they have saved many original parts for me with powder coat. All my wheels have turned out like new. A great service from a fantastic team.

A few of my other projects
The MG Midget is just one of several classic car restorations I’ve taken on over the years. From full strip-down rebuilds to sympathetic refreshes, each project has been a blend of passion, patience and a deep respect for the vehicle’s original character. Whether it’s bringing a forgotten gem back to life or fine-tuning the details on a well-loved classic, every restoration is done with care—and always with the goal of getting these icons back where they belong: on the road.

MoJo
Josephine, my Morris Minor Traveller came to me from Glasgow overnight in 2017 on the back of a trailer, arriving very early in the morning. She had been refurbished and looked beautiful but like any classic car she has needed modifications and refinements to keep her roadworthy and in tip top condition for the weddings, funerals and special occasions that she is regularly used for.

1969 Morris Minivan
What began with a 1973 Mini Clubman in the early 1980s has grown into a lifelong passion for classic cars. Over the years, I’ve owned everything from an Alfasud to a Morris Minor Traveller—but it was a battered 1969 Minivan project that truly put my skills, patience, and perseverance to the test. From roadside repairs to a full ground-up restoration (with a few major setbacks along the way), it’s been quite the ride.
